Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

We’ve been making this banana bread for over 10 years! Before we had kids, I would bake and sell this at a local pharmacy every week. Aaron and I were saving our pennies to afford a nice down payment on a home before he was accepted in to dental school. This is our FAVORITE banana bread since you can’t even taste the banana in it (wink wink).

Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

  • 1 c. butter
  • 2 c. white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 t vanilla
  • 4 ripe bananas
  • 3 c. flour
  • 2 t baking powder
  • 2 t baking soda
  • 1 c. sour cream
  • 2 t cinnamon
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 1.5 c. chocolate chips

Cream together sugar & butter. Add beaten eggs. In separate bowl, mix mashed bananas & vanilla.

Mix dry ingredients (except cinnamon, brown sugar, and chocolate chip) together then add slowly to creamed mixture. Next fold in sour cream, and then banana mixture.

Pour half mixture in greased 9×13 dish. Mix together cinnamon, brown sugar, and chocolate chips. Sprinkle half mixture over batter.

Pour the rest of batter on top. Sprinkle remaining cinnamon sugar mix again! Chopped pecans is a great addition!

Bake covered 350* F for 45-50 minutes.

Have your tried baking this?! I’d love to know if you love more banana or more chocolate in your bread! haha

Unbelievably delectable! I love the amount of banana, the texture is perfect with a slightly crispy outside with a soft melt-in-your-mouth inside, aand the topping pushes this over the top ;).
    Thanks for sharing!
