SIDE TABLE

I found this Walnut Top Side Table and fell. in. love. It’s a midcentury modern classic, a theme that flows throughout my entire house, and was the perfect touch to Ethan’s batman room. I wanted a dark, masculine table to contrast with the bright room. I also needed a scratch and chip-resistant piece allowing the kids to play freely since we have a whole lot of wrestling and tough play going on over here. This table is inspired by the talented Saarinen who created this pedestal table after the shape of a high viscosity liquid drop. I especially adore this gorgeous table’s clean lines. It’s the same design as my white kitchen table, with the black pedestal and a walnut top. Excellent touch to this space!

LOUNGE CHAIR

I found this plush leather Napa Lounge Chair  and it is stunning! The quality is incredible. Once it arrived, it took about 5 minutes to assemble. It’s huge and comfortable with down feathers in the cushions. This lounge chair has become the perfect spot to cuddle while reading bedtime stories and books. It’s also become the perfect jump-off point for superhero pretend adventures. The legs are solid and this comfy seating will be the perfect transitional piece that will eventually find itself in different rooms as the kids grow up.

Click HERE for my Triple Bund Bed blog post! I shared all the details with how my Father-in-law built this custom triple bunk bed from scratch.

Why a triple bunk bed?

When I found out that I was pregnant with Avery I knew that I wanted to her to have her own nursery. I’m all about getting babies on schedules and I assumed it would be much easier to do that if she had her own room. So, I had the twins join Savannah in her room and asked my father-in-law to build a custom triple bunk bed! He is a talented carpenter by hobby! I scoured Pinterest for ideas of layouts for a bunkbed and wasn’t able to find anything in particular that I loved. I found 3 bunk beds that each had elements I wanted to combine to make that perfect triple bunk bed for our family.

My father-in-law custom built this bed and it was PERFECT! Funny-but-not-so-funny story… The 1st night the kids slept in the bed, my oldest daughter Savannah saw her older cousin scale down the outside of the bunk bed down to the floor. Well, Savannah wanted to show her beloved cousin a “SUPER JUMP!” And since I hadn’t yet thought to set up some ground rules for the bunk bed, Savannah JUMPED from the top bunk to the floor. She broke her arm. Since then, ground rules were discussed and we haven’t had any injuries since. <wink wink> Knock on wood!

I HAD to take our triple bunk bed with us to new house! The only downside was the ceilings were sloped in our new house and my father-in-law and hubby had to get creative in order to keep the bed. This was the only room the bunkbed would fit, too. I decided to let Ethan have his own room while the 2 girl’s would share a room. These kiddos can’t be separated too far from each other, they share a jack-and-jill bathroom. Close enough to party all night long ;-).

The kids LOVE obviously this beautiful bed built for them by their grandad. It’s definitely something I’ll keep forever. xo
