HOME TOUR: Girl’s Bedroom Makeover

I am so excited to share with y’all a sweet, girl’s bedroom makeover! From my last blog/Instagram post, I’ve had so many of ya’ll asking where everything is from, so I’m including all of these gems for you here! We filled my 6.5 year old’s room with all things vintage floral and bohemian lace. It turned out great and it’s become one of my favorite spots in the house. The kids are usually bouncing from room to room, and hanging out on their beds is definitely one of their favorite places to be. I’ve linked all sources at the bottom of the post, just scroll all the way down to find the direct links.

BEFORE SHOT (I snagged this from the realtor pics)

First, we painted the entire room white! Here’s a screenshot on my phone from when I peaked in the room and saw Savannah reading a book. #heartmelted

WALLPAPER

And here’s the final reveal after we added the Queen Ann Wallpaper from Rocky Mountain Decal to the single wall! It’s a gorgeous palate of large-scale floral blooms with shades of blush, ivory, greens, and black. It’s stunning! The neat thing about this particular paper is it’s self-adhesive. It’s super simple to apply – simply peel off backing paper and stick the wallpaper against the wall. It’s also easy to remove – gently pull the panel away from the surface. No tools required. Walls will not be damaged or in need of a repaint. It was a great option for us in case the girl’s decided to switch room styles in a few years when they get even more opinionated about their style ๐Ÿ˜‰ We did have someone skim and plaster the wall to take away the texture, so the wallpaper has a smooth surface. Not necessary, but recommended! We found a local guy who hangs wallpaper, total cost for the labor (including hanging) was $400.

Savannah often tells me, “Mom. This is so cute and fashion.” or “No, I don’t want to wear that, it’s not fashion. And I’m fashion.” haha The things and terms she picks up makes me smile. The great thing about adding wallpaper is that extra decor can be minimized! I love having a purpose for every item I add to our home and this room has been perfect! We also keep all the extra toy storage in the playroom which helps with toy cleanup.

Then, I added this DREAMY CANOPY FROM SPINKIE. Once that bad boy hung up the space became magical. The girls LOVE to pull out their DOLLHOUSE and throw themselves into creative rolls and they’ll pretend for hours. It’s just such a fun experience to listen in on them. They’re usually princesses or queens, generally making their brother be the bad guy or prince. One of the best things about being a mother is seeing the beauty in make-believing. Much better than the occasional sibling squabble (wink wink). I added a few Pom Pom garlands to complete the canopy tent.

I found the Girl’s BED FRAMES from here for $120. We LOVE them! They were the perfect beds to add our favorite Beddy’s Bedding to. We’ve had Beddy’s for years and cannot get enough of these zippered bed sets that keeps things tidy and simplified. The kids know how to make their beds and it literally only takes 2 minutes. And they look perfectly tucked in every time since the fitted + flat + comforter and blanket are all wrapped in 1 piece. They’re a bit of an investment, 100% worth it and you’ll see why! Overall, we love this feminine escape!

      Hi Grace,

His name is Javier Cervantes. Phone number: 469-450-6503. He’s done two walls for us so far and done an awesome job both times.

Hi there, LOVE this room you did an amazing job!! Is your “Dreamy Canopy” Champaign color? It looks more like the Blush color they have on their website. (Champaign looks like a cream color)..? Thanks!!

      Hi Jessica,

Thank you! It was confusing for me too on the website! Champagne.

Can you tell me what canopy color that you used? On the website, the champagne color looks lighter and the blush looks darker than what is in your room. I love how it looks in your pictures!!

      Hi Shaina,

I had the same issues when I was looking. It’s champagne!

Did you have to pay a custom fee on this wallpaper? I heard anything over $200 you had to. Iโ€™m hoping not, or if so, that isnโ€™t too much. ๐Ÿ™‚ Thank you!
