3 Super Simple Tips to Keep Your Kitchen Clean

It’s been 90 degrees, y’all. DREAMY!!!! We’ve been thrilled with these warmer days because we’ve been able to enjoy swimming. The spring weather has become more and more beautiful now that we’re seeing less rainy days. My kids are f.i.s.h.i.e.s. and could spend their entire days swimming and snacking on fruit.

I get asked a lot by fellow mamas how my house seems to always stay tidy. My secret?… It doesn’t!! When I shoot photos in my home to post on Instagram I love the artistic challenge of styling that space. As part of that I make sure the area where I’m styling my shot is beautiful and clean. I clear the clutter, I arrange the furniture an fluff the pillows. You guys, this is SO fun for my creative brain! It’s similar to those who love to decorate a beautiful cake or design a detailed scrapbook page. PLEASE don’t mistake my love for styling shoots to equate a perfect home. None of us on instagram have perfect homes, kids, or lives. We know this, right? It may be easy to forget when you’re neck-deep in laundry and dirty dishes. My house certainly isn’t picture-perfect sparkly all, or even most of the time! But I will say this…I do LOVE to keep my kitchen clean. Luckily, my hubby feels the same way. Especially the counters, if they’re cleared off and wiped down then I’m okay with the rest of my home being messy with toys and princess outfits tossed all over the floors. But my kitchen is my sanctuary. I’d love to share my favorite tips to keeping things light and clean in my favorite space.

If I don’t use a particular appliance or product every day then it goes in the cupboard. Paper towels are one of the only items I keep on my counters. We go through paper towels like it’s going out of style. Hands down, they’re the most used kitchen item and we use them every day. Spoiler alert: Not all paper towels are made equal! Oh my goodness, even when we were in dental school living off my small income we always bought Bounty paper towels since the off-brand always ended up too soggy and eventually fell apart. I loved the quality and thickness of Bounty.

Bounty Quick Size Paper Towels are available for a sweet deal on Amazon with coupon code 5QUICKBOUNTY. And during check-out, you can clip an additional $2 off coupon – it’s an awesome price you don’t want to miss ($7 off)! The new packaging is 16 Family Rolls which equals 40 Regular rolls.

YES! I’ve found that the more I multi-task by beginning lots of projects then the less likely I am to finish them. Once I begin a project I do my best to see it through to the end. Same goes for the running a household and keeping the kitchen clean. I try to teach the kids that we aren’t done getting dressed in the morning until all of their dirty clothes are put away. We aren’t done with dinner until the dishes are put in to the dishwater. See what I mean? Finish what you start, and that might mean multi-tasking a whole lot less.

Every time you walk into the kitchen, find 10 things to put away. Whether that’s putting all the dirty dishes into the sink or unloading half of the dishwasher, leave it more clean than how it was before you came in. It takes maybe 2 minutes to put away 10 things. What a small price for a big payoff. The minimal pick-ups add up throughout the day, trust me! By the end of the night when the kids have gone to bed, I’ll spend 20 minutes finishing the dishes from dinner and doing the final wipe down. This rule also works for getting the kids to keep their play room somewhat put together.

Hope your spring cleaning is coming along with full force! My 3 easy tips for a busy mama to tackle both small and big messes in the kitchen are tried and true.

1. Avoid multi-tasking by finishing the job you start while in the kitchen during mealtimes.

2. Clear off the counters-if it’s not being used daily then store it somewhere else.

3. 10 Things Rule by putting away 10 things every time you pop in to the kitchen.

And don’t forget to use promo code: 5QUICKBOUNTY to receive $5 off your Family 16ct Pack of NEW Bounty Quick-size Paper Towels and apply the extra $2 off coupon at check-out! These really help make clean up a breeze.

Well! It’s most important to clean your kitchen clean. It is the place where you cook your meal and it should be hygienic. You can skip other parts of your home for 1-2 days but not your kitchen.

Love this. I agree the kitchen is constantly getting dirty in our home. Its like picking up the pins, but then they get knocked down again. I need to start putting away as I go. I try to do this now when I cook instead of waiting until the end. Thanks for all your tips!
